FUTURA

FUTURA is a scene founded by Andycapp and the WAVGODS (Paulo and Nigel of the Moonrunners). Frustrated by the city’s regurgitation of nostalgic dance parties, this DIY collective developed a party that blends the sounds of producers from around the globe who craft futuristic-bass driven, experimental music. Our playlists include everything from Flying Lotus and the LA beat scene, new rap collectives like Zero Fatigue (Smino, Monte Booker, Saba, Pheolix, and Ravyn Lenae), Stones Throw luminaries (Madlib, Dilla, Sudan Archives, and Knxlwledge), cosmic visionary weirdos like Thundercat, Kamasi Washington, and Shabazz Palaces, UK stalwarts Jai Paul, Ben Khan and Sam Gellaitry, and a healthy dose of Afro House, Baile Funk, and modern Dancehall Flips.
